Coffee Manufactory was born to answer a very specific question: what coffee is worthy of Tartine? If you know Tartine Bakery, you know that's a high bar. Founded in 2016 as the official roaster for the James Beard Award-winning bakery, Coffee Manufactory now supplies every Tartine location from San Francisco to Seoul, roasting with sweetness and balance as the north star. Their sourcing is direct, their supply chain transparency is verified by research partners at MIT, University of Michigan, and SCS Global, and their Cloud Roasting process uses a gas-fired vortex to produce cleaner, gentler, more aromatic results than traditional drum roasting. Serious operation, seriously good coffee. In the cup, expect beautifully balanced, fruit-forward coffees with a delicate, pastry-friendly elegance.

Coffee Manufactory was born from a conversation about what we dream to be possible in coffee. We are committed to producer empowerment, transparency, and supply chain equity. Our coffees are Cloud Roasted™ - our sustainably sourced beans are enveloped in a controlled, gas-fired vortex. This creates cleaner and gentler uniform roasting, produces intensified aromatics and smoother flavors, and beats the traditional drum roasting process. Our Coffee Manufactory Lion references a statue in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – the birthplace of coffee. We love the complexity of Ethiopian coffee and think Ethiopia has some of the highest quality coffee producers out there. The lion is proud, humble, regal, and respected. We are committed to bringing greater attention to our partners in regions around the world, using iconography of regional markers to highlight producers.
